Our History

Word of Life Church opened their doors in 1992, at a store front building on Middle Valley Road in Hixson, Tennessee, with 19 people.   In 1997 they bought acreage on Cassandra Smith Road where they planned to build a permanent church building of their own.  In 2003 they broke ground and began the Vision of Word of Life Church.  Today they are in a beautiful church complex holding up to 500 in their main church sanctuary. Believers gather every week with multiple different functions going on from their main church services to prayer meetings to music practices, AWANA Ministry, food & clothing ministry, etc.

Greg Alex is the Senior Pastor of Word of Life Church.  After graduating from Rhema Bible Training Center, both Greg and his wife Patty moved to Chattanooga Tennessee to preach the Word of God.  Every Sunday Morning they minister about how to live an overcoming life in this World.  On Sunday Evenings they teach about Divine Healing and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit where all are seeing God move in wonderful ways.  Wednesday is a night dedicated to a verse by verse study of the Bible with an open forum where questions can be addressed.  They also have an AWANA Program for all children ages 3-18 years on Wednesday nights.

Pastor Greg and Patty also bring in diverse guest speakers to help build a balanced church that is raising up mature believers who know who they are in Jesus and who He, the Christ, is in them.
